Currently SFLECC Publicity/Fund Raising Committee Chairman. Lee is a retired Professor and Head of the Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management at Purdue University (30 years). In addition, he is a Navy veteran (4 years), worked in the financial industry (5 years) and has hotel management degrees from Michigan State University and Wayne State University. He is a member of the Monticello Kiwanis, the Monticello Rotary, and is a member and Past Commodore of the Lafayette Sailing Club. His work with the SFLECC for the past three years includes service on the Finance, Silt, Shore Front, Environmental, and Watershed committees. Lee would like to continue serving as a member of the SFLECC Board, working to improve the quality of our lakes as natural, recreational, and economic resources.
Incumbent: Dr. Michael Perry (Freeman) License number 1100632
Dr. Perry is a full time resident of Lake Freeman and part time Oral Surgeon in Lafayette, Indiana. Dr. Perry and his wife, Claudette, have owned a home on Lake Freeman in the 1980's and now again have a home on Lake Freeman in which they are year round residents. Dr. Perry looks forward to helping achieve a safe, clean lake environment. Dr. Perry has served on the Shore Front Committee and Environmental Committee for the SFLECC.
Curtis (Wayne) Garrison (Freeman) License number 1101847
Curtis has lived in this area and utilized the recreational value of these lakes for the past forty some years and in 1995 built a new home on Lake Freeman. Curtis has served on the SFLECC Board for three years and served as Chairman of the Silt Committee and sat on the Finance, Environmental, and Watershed committees. Curtis presently sits on the Twin Lakes Sewer District Board and has been on its Board since 2005. Curtis' education consists of from attending United Electronics Institute, Louisvile, KY as an Electronics Technician from 1970 to 1971, and graduating high school in 1969 from Delphi Community High School. Work Experience: Curtis currently is employed with Alcoa Inc., Lafayette, IN as an Industrial Electrician. From 1993 through 1997, he worked at Wabash National Corp. as an Electrical Automation Coordinator. From 1988 through 1993, when the company closed, he worked for Lox Equipment Co., Delphi, IN. Curtis is involved with Delphi Jaycees, Delphi Girls Softball as League President for 8 years, and the Radnor United Methodist Church, where he has served on Board of Trustees, Board Chairman, and Pastor Parish Committee. Norman Mills (Freeman) License number 1100068
Norm and his wife, Helen, have six grown children and live on Lake Freeman. Norm has been on the SFLECC Board of Directors for eight years. During Norm's years on the SFLECC Board, he has served on the Shore Front, Watershed, Finance, License Fee Review, and Silt committees. Norm is a member of the Knights of Columbus, a Grand Knight, member of the White Co. Catholic Men's Assoc.. Norm is a graduate of Hammond High School, graduate of Purdue University with a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, and graduated from the University of Delaware with a master's degree in chemical engineering and a minor in nuclear engineering. Norm served for four years in the US Navy as an aerial photographer in which he received an honorable discharge. Norm worked at Linde Div. of Union Carbide in Speedway, Indiana; Allison Div. of General Motors in Indianapolis; Inland Steel in East Chicago; Flo-Con Corporation in Champaign, Illinois; Boc Gasses in Murray Hill, New Jersey; and self-employed until retried in 1999.
James M Davis (Shafer) License number 1100915
Jim and his wife Ruth are full time residents of Lake Shafer. After retiring from the US Army, he became involved with the management of Indiana Beach and has been very active in the community. Jim served as President of several local boards, such as the White County United Way, Monticello Chamber of Commerce, Twin Lakes School Board and the Kiwanis Club of Monticello where he served as its District's Lt. Governor. Also, he has been involved with the Junior Achievement, White County Hospital Foundation, White County Historical Society, First Presbyterian Church and the SFLECC. Jim states, "I have served on the Board of the Shafer & Freeman Lakes Environmental Corporation for six years in the past. There were challenges, soul-searching, delays, and triumphs. The key focus is still making our Twin Lakes the most safe, habitable and pleasant for all. Times are not easy fiscally; however, I would be willing to assist in making our area the best possible for all: year-round, seasonal or guests. This is a wonderful place which should not be allowed to languish."
