2011 BOARD MEMBERS ELECTED

Incumbent: Peggy Furrer (Freeman) Member by License

Peggy has lived on Lake Freeman since she was a child and raised her children on the lake. She cares deeply that the lake is cared for and maintained for the present and future generations. Peggy is employed with Indiana Waste Systems as a consultant, doing administrative duties. She has been co-owner of a transportation company for twelve years as Director of Administration, worked as a telephone operator and has worked in the banking industry.


Incumbent: Doug Mulhaupt (Freeman) Member by License

Doug has a degree in business from Purdue University and has operated Mulhaupt's in Lafayette for 30 years. He has served on the Board of Directors of Lafayette Downtown Business Center, The Greater Lafayette Community Development Corporation, and Meals on Wheels. Doug has served on the SFLECC Board of Directors and his main focus has been the campaign to raise the Tioga Bridge while serving on the Environmental Committee. He was also the winner of the antique boat class in the 2008 Boat Parade.


Incumbent: Michael Triplett (Shafer) Member by License

Mike started coming to the Twin Lakes area in 1949. Mike and his wife Bonnie bought their first summer home in 1984 and purchased their existing home in 1993. He is the owner of The Lighthouse Lodge on Lake Shafer which they built and opened in June 2006. The Tripletts have lived here full time for four years and love being in the Monticello/Twin Lakes area. Mike and his family are nature lovers and firmly believe in conservation of our natural resources, while enjoying the recreational facilities available through out the area. Mike has been a member of the Monticello Rotary Club since 2005 and a member of the Chamber of Commerce since 2006.


John Wells (Freeman) Member by License

John first came to a cottage at Roth Park back in 1956. His parents and in-laws both moved to Lake Freeman's Lower Hambridge area in 1975. He bought his home on Lake Freeman in 2004. John has been a police officer with the Lafayette City Police Dept. for 24 years. In 2002, he was named Officer of the Year and in 2003, he received the Lafayette City Police Medal of Honor. John is a Blue and Gold Admission Liaison officer for the United States Naval Academy. John states that he has, "watched the Lakes change over the years and am excited to see how clean they are becoming." and "After many years of my using the lakes I feel it's time for me to give back a little of my time to them."



John C.(Jack) Werner (Freeman) Member by Upper Sunset Park Association

Jack lives in Indianapolis. His family has been coming to the lakes since 1930's. His family purchased property in Upper Sunset Park in 1980. Jack has served on the Upper Sunset Board since the early 1990's. He is currently serving his fourth year as President of that association. Jack has a BS in Business Administration from Butler University. He currently owns and operates JCW Financial Services since 1985 specializing in medical insurance for small employers, the self-employed, and seniors. He does or has served on the Washington Township Board, Washington Township Fire Protection Contribution Fund, Housing Board of Indiana Gamma Phi Delta Theta at Butler University, Rolling Ridge Neighborhood Association Board. Jack states, "I believe that my business and budgeting experience along with my passion for the Twin Lakes makes me uniquely qualified to serve on the SFLECC Board."
